Interesting article on MSN health regarding probiotics. I know a lot of you have found them beneficial.

I have actually purchased Culturelle for Katy but have a question on the timing of the dosing. She takes her Prevacid first thing in the morning and her Ursodiol and Vitamax after breakfast. Ursodiol every night and also Zithromax 3 times a week, at night. Any thoughts about the timing of the Culturelle? Thanks!

Give it to her in the mornings. Giving it to her with her prevacid is probably a good call because the prevacid will block the acid and keep the good bacteria alive so it can get where it needs to go. If she has never been on them before, and she is on antibiotics all the time, it may take a while before you to notice a difference in her stools...and also her acid production (reflux). I take them twice a day, but I think Foody is the woman to talk to for kids.

I wanted to say I mentioned culturelle the other day because so many people are unsure of a good brand that contains Lactobacillus GG. I do not use this brand but believe in its quality because it has been studied.....

I use Heaven and Earth Ultra DuoDophilus which contains 9 different strains of probiotics..it does include Lactobacillus GG.

I was on Primal Defense when my cultures changed for the better....Primal Defense jsut doesn't say the CFU amount so I switched to a different brand that did.

I take Jarrow dolphilus twice daily morning and evening for many years. does anyone take jarrow products?

Metagenics has a probiotic and there have been other brands that I have tried through my twenty plus years of taking probiotics.

I believe you can only buy this product from a health care practioner. It is very expensive.

I no longer take this because there are properties that boost the immune system. I spoke to one of their scientists.

I believe one of the scientists from metagenics left and started this company.
