Pseudomonas affecting oral hygeine??

I generally have always had good teeth, no problems a cavity here or there, but my teeth have been awful lately and I brush constantly because of coughing 24/7. I have pseudomonas and am currently taking Cipro 2 weeks out of each month for 12 months. My boyfriend thought it might be my neb meds causing me to have issues but I have had to get two root canals and now I have lots of cavities. Has anyone else had issues with psuedo and their teeth?

I've had PA for 27+ years and I've never had that issue.

Have you been tested for acid reflux? That can completely eat away at your teeth.

Also I know you don't have CF have you been tested for diabetes lately?

THat's all I can think of right now.

Thanks for your quick reply<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> I googled psuedo and teeth to see what would happen and I found an article stating that some patients with pa get bad oral hygiene. I was just curious. I do get some acid reflux but not enough I don't think to do anything. My teeth are white, they do not look bad, but the cavities are crazy! So I was wondering if it was my meds or the PA. I haven't been tested for diabetes lately, thank you for mentioning that it does run on my mother's side.

You can often not tell how bad your reflux is (not saying that you have it...but for future reference).

It can happen at night without you even knowing it.

One of the biggest indicators of bad reflux is almost 0 plaque on your teeth when you go for a check up. Not having plaque of course doesn't mean you can't get cavities.

Anyway, hope you find the answer to help your teeth. Take care
