heard it from me. just a few days ago.

Phase III clinical trials from pulmozyme showed a statistically significant improvement in lung function for patients with an FEV1 > 85% for a BID dose versus QD dose <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

my docs never believed me when i said that i felt better with a BID dose. come to find out 7 years after i first started the drug that there are studies to support that. go figure!!!!

reminds me of Q's advice to me once.....

Amy,

Can you give me a link to that study? My daughter Hayley, just had a bronch on Monday and has a lot of "REALLY THICK MUCOUS" according to our Pulmo, said it was even hard to suction up to get a sample to culture. Hayley has been on Pulmozyme for almost ayear now once per day and I want to bump it to twice per day. She is only 4 and has been having a rough time, especially in the last 6 months. We just did 2 weeks of IV in January and we are already on them again! UGH! She also just had a port placed last Wednesday because we are doing the IV's so frequently. Again she is only 4 and has not done PFT's yet, we are getting ready to start practicing with the mouthpiece, but our clinic is small (great for many reasons!) But we don't have the infant PFT's, so I have no idea what her PFT's are (although I would really like to know!)

ANyway, my whole point is that I want to push for her to do the Pulmozyme twice per day and would like to go armed to her clinic in a little over a week with any information I can. THanks!

That is good info Amy.

Our doctor told us to bump the kids up to twice a day when they were sick and coughing more. Both kids have cold right now so we were going to start BID tomorrow. Does it need to be given 12 hours apart?
