Question for those on the AZLI study

After the inhaled Aztreonam didnt come out on the market as planned my Dr. encouraged me to get back on the AZLI study. I quit the study months before due to the mist being so dense thru the eflow that i had a hard time inhaling it at all. I got back on it the 26th of Dec. and on the 29th i coughed up blood immediately after doing the AZLI.(small amount) Next day same thing. Since then i have had streaks every day and episodes of hemoptysis either shortly after the treatment or randomly after coughing hard.
I am no stranger to hemnoptysis ( 3 embolizations ) so some hemoptysis here and there isnt all too uncommon, but i was actually hemoptysis free for a good run there (a few months) so i know this is caused by the AZLI, maybe not the medicine itself but the density of the mist thru the eflow.

My question is.... has anyone else experienced this? Did you have to stop using it? Has anyone tried it in a regular nebulizer?
I am waiting for a call back from my Dr. to let me know if he wants me to continue the AZLI.

Hello,

I am on the study and I too suffer from Hemoptysis after it not much so far the most is 2 tablespoons then I streak through out the day. I also get very tight chested and wheeze, but my DR said it is doing me more good then it is bad. So, I am now working on the off month so I will see how I do off the medicine for a month. I will keep you informed on how I do. So, far no up in FEV1 yet, I actually went down 2% but I guess my DR thinks that will change. I pray he is right.
Hugs,

Thanks Melissa My Dr. decided to see me today rather than wait till tomorrow ( my scheduled appt.)after i called and told them what was going on yesterday. I was told to stop the AZLI for the time being until i see the Dr. and he figures out whats what.

I have not had any bleeding with the AZLI. After I do it though, I do sometimes cough up hunks of green goo...but no blood.

I hope you get it figured out soon!
