Researching for my book on CF

Im having a book put together about my life with Cf. I am co-authoring it with a woman who specialises in medical autobiographys and already has a best seller.
Im after two pieces of information specifiacally.
Firstly, Any men who have children that used the ICSI programme and what year the children were born will be valuable info.
Secondly, how many people have had a length of tubing from there portocath snap off in their vein and pass through their heart eventually getting lodged in the pulmanary artery? And also how it was removed.
Thanks and PM is fine.

I have been asked to write the book as it apparently offers great encouragement to others fighting CF. Im 40 in May and have my own lungs still despite being groomed for transplant 10 years ago. Lung functions are improved and portocath been removed. I went alternate from Western medicine to a large degree but still incorporate it. I am the Aussie surfer dude that was on the News for getting onto the Hypertonic saline thing and believe CF can be turned around. Im willing to coach anyone wanting to have a crack at a differing approach from what they know (without stopping anything already being prescribed by doctors) and feel certain a massive improvement will be seen in 4 weeks. All free btw! just really love seeing the way people turn things around using natural n logical approaches. Im truly hoping for 10 people to stay in Australia in my home town for a month and do my programme, which will be filmed, and then recieve feedback with the hope of getting it on TV. I just returned from 7 weeks in India in an attempt to further my understanding of a more natural way to keep my mind n body healthy. Any feedback would be awesome!
thanks Blacky

I had my portacath line snap in two while having it removed. I was slightly sudated in Intevention Radiology when it happened. The line would have slipped in to my lungs, but i was blessed with a skilled surgeon. He was able to tread a wire thru mt groin, then he "losowed" the broken tubing by pulling it out my groin. The doctor said it was very tricky.

Even tho I was only partly sudated the doctors did not tell me what had happened until I was safely back in my hospital bed.

My CF doctor said if it hadn't been for the skill of the doctor, I would be lying in ICU with a 12 inch scar down my back.

Scar tissue formed around the break in the line. It blocks the direct blood flow to my heart. My blood is now taking 12 differnt routes to my heart. I can never get another pick line. I must always have a portacath to keep the scared vein open. Otherwise it will disappear forever.
I would never be able to get another port again.

Did your port line snap in two?

We did IVF with ICSI, my ex-husband probably won't be willing to contribute any information, but I'm more than happy to give any info you might need or answer any questions you might have.
