Our 11 yr old son was admitted today. He grew out pseudomonous and MRSA. Of course this isnt our first time in the hospital but as most of you know it can be boring! I am glad for laptops and wifi but it doesnt really help sometimes. Can you give ideas of what you do? We have movies and games, card games, coloring, computer, fb and myspace, ipod, I am doing some crafting and catching up on some reading. But he still is bored. HA
Love to hear from ya.Also praying for all the CFers in the hospital. Hope you all get well and go home soon.

I do scrapbooking now (took me 3 months to do lol). My husband beads. Otherwise I sit there and watch my daughter sleep.

i grew the MRSA and the pseudomonous as well, and cant seem to get rid of it so everytime i go they put me in sort of a negative pressure isolation room. before that i used to wander the halls aimlessly and raid the food pantries with the help of a few kind hearted nurses. as for what to do there.. i go armed for bear. i bring my ps3, psp and buy a few new games each trip, along with my little 13 inch tv (the hospital staff hate it cuz they load all that stuff on the bed thing lol) i bring 7 or 8 books that all get read, snacks and some of my own food because in isolation its hard to get meals, and menus. idk if anyone else experiences that, but it seems alot of time the food people see airborne contagion on the door and decide they dont get paid enough to find out, often i would get two meals at once or 1 hours late because it was left in the hall. anymore i judt call down a half hour before the mealtime and relay what i want to them that way, they dont like it but it was my doctors suggestion. take advantage of the boost shakes at mealsnothing beats having someone at your side though, friend or family, visitors are the best cure for what your asking i think idk if your son is old enough to realize that but..since my grandparents died i dont get any visitors..i used to kind of ignore them while they were there, when i was well enough to get up and around but looking back, id do anything to have that strong hand to hold again in those times,i need to go back in soon and im afraid to, i dont wanna be alone there.. good luck with everything..ill pray for you all..youve got a long road ahead. i jus found out about this site so im new here, sorry if im long winded in my replies, i wish i had that much wind to spread around in the real world lol i never knew there were so many other people..all these years ive been going it alone when it seems the support i needed was right here.
