skin issues

Ok I need some help or hints. I havent ever realy had skin issues...like pimples and blackheads.....then it seems like i started some certain meds...advair is one...and if i am sick any steroid....I break out....here recently i havent gotten over the break out from the last steroid i had like a month or two ago...and they increased my advair....My question is...what do you guys and gals use for your skin/face? I am getting annoyed with pimples. So what kind of skin care product do you use that works or helps? I know its not that important of an issue but its still annoying.

I never got regular little pimples. I used to get these huge cysts on my face. I used to have to go to a dermatologist and they have them injected or drained. It was nasty. I finally went on birth control to see if that would make a difference. I haven't had one cyst since I started. I am so happy it worked. Maybe trying that might help.

yeah i was on birth control and it seemed to help i think. but i have had my tubes tied so no reason to be on bc...egh just like i said its not anything huge...not life threatening or something like that...just annoying and hurts the self confidence that i dont have...lol

What about that Pro-Active. Eveer use that? I did for awhile but then decided to use BC seeing as the skin stuff didn't help my cysts.

I'm still breaking out from Zithromax even though I stopped taking it last June. I know it is related because all throughout high school I had clear skin and the week I went on Zithromax I got acne. I took it for a year and a half before I realised it was the cause. I've been on a internet quest lately to try and figure it out. I think it has something to do with liver functions because a lot of people feel that an unhealthy liver is a cause for acne and Zithromax can take quite a toll on your liver. Carlsons Fish Oil slows it but it still persists. I take it in liquid form morning and night. I've also recently started just washing my face with water, instead of beating it to crap with cleansers and face washes. It seems to keep my skin smoother and healthier looking. Usually in the morning after shaving I moisturize with Moisturel. Best stuff I've ever used and I'm fairly certain it doesn't break me out. Lastnight I tried a liver flush from www.curezone.com but I guess it didn't work because I didn't pass any stones. I'm trying to figure that out too, so I can give it another try. I know Zithromax is sometimes actually used to TREAT acne but for me it did the opposite.

acne from steroids is hormonal. the pill is the only thing that can bring your hormones back to normal, well, as close as you can get anyway. you can still take it if you have your tubes tied. only go on the ones specifically for acne [brenda, diane, estelle] as others dont work as well and can actually make acne worse. not to mention if steroids have given you facial hair problems the pill can help with that too. i wouldnt touch pro activ with a 10 ft pole, nor would i believe jessica simpsons testimony [she apparently uses shiseido]. just use something like cetaphil cleanser and moisturiser. cheap as chips and the chances of you having an allergic reaction etc are very, very slim. you wont need to take a personal loan out either if you decide you dont like it <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

if you really want to believe that she uses pro activ then by all means. they sponsor her show, so she is obliged to promote it. certainly does not mean she uses it.

I have just started using ProActiv, and I have found it is actually really good. I was very skeptical but tried everything, including Accutane... I was also on the Pill which was fabulous, but I had to go off it for other reasons...

I stopped taking all of my medications... My skin looks great, and people say I now have great color and look good; but I'm infected, have a temperature of a 100 plus everyday, my head feels like its full of mucus, I can't breath, and I'm depressed.... but I look good and people now want to talk to me...


Life sucks with CF....

hmm yeah i think maybe you should take your meds again...people who dont talk to you for the way you look suck anyway.

I got some samples for retina micro...wont know if its really working till three weeks and its supposed to get worse before it gets better because it brings everythign out...i can tell though that some areas of my skin is looking better and the complexion isnt so ...dont know how to explain it. but it looks better.
i know this is the least important thing we have to deal with. i was just wondering if anyone had any secrets...so thanks for sharing.
