Steroids and "cushingoid" appearance

I've been on dexamethasone for months now(for ABPA)and am starting to taper off finally. Does anyone have any input from experience or otherwise on how long it takes for the cushing's syndrome like appearance to go away (moon face, fat redistribution etc.)after stopping the dex?

I'm hoping it's fairly quickly as people I haven't seen in awhile are shocked when they see how I look now. Thanks in advance.

Best regards to you all.

I lost mine instantly. What I am curious about is if someone is doesnt lose weight easily would have a harder time losing the "roid" weight. I connected losing my roid weight to how easy it is for me to lose weight normally!

Yeah, I have trouble gaining weight, so I'm assuming (read hoping) I lose it very quickly. I've never been this fat in my entire life, I cant even button some of my pants anymore. It's really affecting me since I've always been thin, but not so much that I looked emaciated or sickly. Now I look like I'm wearing a fat suit. I can hardly bring myself to look in the mirror.

I typically run around 66 Kilos and a 29" waist, I'm not sure how much I've gained on the roids, but it's got to be a few kilos at least. I can't even see my abs anymore, as someone who used to do some small scale modeling, it's really freaking me out.

Thanks for your reply

Depending on how long you've been on them, it could be awhile. I was on steroids for a LONG time because of ABPA, but it never worked to bring my IGE down.

It could take as long as 2 months to get back to normal. In the meantime, I recommend you invest in a comfy pair of drawstring pants Drink LOTS of water too.
