Hello all of my friends, boy have I missed all of you! I went in for a "routine "tune up 5 weeks ago and am STILL THERE Gahhh! I have not had any internet access until now, I can be very creative when I want to be LOL! Apparently my first round of IV's weren't a success...I was supposed to go home after my 4th week of IV's, the paperwork was ready but then the temps began. Every test including a full CT scan (I think my toes were excluded from radiation LOL) to look for abcesses or any other source was done. Finally, the sputum culture came back...high colonies of cepacia, just like before. I believe that cepacia is like a cockroach, no matter how low you get the colonies knocked down, the bug always proliferates no matter what is thrown at them. Because I was running high temps, the docs decided to put me back on IV's...not happy as that means another two weeks which will make it about two months in when I finally get out barring any complications. I am not going to jinx myself...I will believe that I am leaving when I am in the wheelchair and leaving the unit LOL! Keep your fingers crossed...I know I am.
Prayers going out to those who aren't well as well as for Amber to get out of the hospital to really test out those new lungs of hers!
Hugs to all, Jenn

LOL Emily!! I was thinking the same thing....but you are right, even cockroaches would survive an H-bomb!!

Thanks for the well wishes...I am hanging in there by my toenails and lose my patience much quicker than I usually do, but the doc is understanding. I just want to be home with my family, my dog and my own bed....aaahhh won't that be sweet!!! Hugs, Jenn

I am so sorry that you are having to deal with all this junk. I am glad to hear that you are still with us though even if you have been MIA. I hope this round of abx does the trick and the Cepacia can calm down a tad.

Take Care and I hope you start feeling much better real soon
