Has anyone out there had a child with CF that has studied abroad? My daughter is in her junior year at college and just got approved for foreign study for a semester (still has to get the host family assignment) I'd love to chat with someone who has been through this. She has been abroad several times, but never for more than a few weeks. My main concern is with getting medicine to her when needed. I'm nervous about relying on mail which can take weeks, but our insurance will only approve a month of prescriptions at a time. I may have to change insurance (lucky enough to have that option) but hope I can avoid that. So far we have been able to get by with HMO coverage which has been a plus because there is no lifetime cap on meds on our plan plus the lower premiums have really helped hold down the overall costs.
