sudden loss of appitite

The last few weeks have been really wierd, my weight is down from where it usually runs so I've been trying to put some meat back on my bones, but a couple times a day I'll be eating then out of nowhere my appitite vanishes and I feel like with every bite its all going to come out. I never have actually vomitted as a result, but this is really putting a damper on gaining any weight.
Just as random, a couple weeks ago I was riding in a car full of people (of course it would happen when the car is full right?) I got carsick. The driver wasn't being agressive or anything and I have never before in my life been carsick, I was able to not vomit, but it lingered for a couple hours after, it was really strange.
I think it might be somehow a mental thing maybe, back in my last hospital visit my girlfriend (long gone) commented about how the hospital food looked/smelled and it got to where I couldn't eat it anymore, before I didn't have any problem with the food, gee thanks... Before that though I never had food in front of me I couldn't eat, anybody else ever have this happen or am I losing it?

I have been having the same problems this summer. My weight is way down and I just dont feel like eating anymore...almost ever. I feel like I just eat enough to survive so to speak. I dont snack as much and my meal portions are much smaller than they used to be.

I have also been suffering some anxiety problems and personally for me, I think that is why I am suffering this problem. Is there something in your life that is currently bothering you? I moved in with my fiancee, am looking for a new job and dont have many friends where i moved.

I get carsick often. Nauseous, chills, hot flashes, urge to lie vertically.

I had an incident similar to yours a few weeks ago. There was a heatwave going on here in PA and I was riding in a jeep with no air conditioning. Was sweating profusely and then began to get that ineffable feeling of being sick/nauseous. Tried to fight the urge to vomit but ended up sticking my head out the window while riding down the highway and regurgitating the peaches I had ate an hour or so earlier.

I find that when I'm having an attack like this, cold air on the face seems to help it a lot. That or lying down and not moving. I also have heartburn pretty much 24/7 if I don't take a PPI or H2 receptor antagonist (acid reducer). Sometimes it gets so bad that I vomit straight bile. Horrrrrible.

I feel for you <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

I was like this earlier this year. Eating had become a chore for me and I constantly felt nauseous. I started on some appetite enhancers (sorry, I can't remember the name) and they helped a lot. Maybe ask your dr about starting something like that?

A lot of times I have to make myself eat even though I don't want to, and the thought of eating makes me want to throw up. I try to fight it because I weight like nothing right now but I cant.
I try lite food like a cracker and sometimes that helps and makes me hungry but then after one bite I feel full and nauseous.
The carsick thing is annoying too.. I hope you will feel better soon.

have you done cultures recently? Sometimes that means something is brewing in your lungs.

For me for instance, I lose my appetite with any type of flar up from my b. cep or m. abscessus.

I have to take an appetite stimulant during that time or I drop weight so fast. Like literally 3-5 pounds a day. The appetite stimulant gets rid of my nausea feeling too after eating so I can actually enjoy food again. I also got a g-tube to help w/ my episodes when i dont or cant eat so at least I am still getting nutrition b/c I can go an entire day w/o eating and not really notice until I am so unbelievably weak.

Of course, abx can do it too, if you are any of those.
