My son will be having a port placed next week, and I'm getting a little nervous. He also has a bleeding disorder, which makes this a little more of a big deal. The surgeon is very confident and they will have blood hanging and ready to go if needed. he will come home same day as long as there are no complications.
I'm wondering about the pain? How painful is it, and how long does it last? Do you think a couple days home from school is appropriate, or not. He has autism so he has a hard time telling me how he feels. Even though he is not saying he is pain, doesn't necessary mean he isn't.
I just want to cover all my bases and get an idea of how long it takes to get back your your old selves. Thanks everyone, jshet
