Tami's (Izemmom) Emily in Hospital

I spoke with Tami and they have admitted Emily to the hospital - the local hosptial vs Children's to minimize her exposure to all the RSV and other "kid bourne" nasties.

They are on a working dx of C-Diff. This is their first hospital admit since Emily's birth and I'm sure quite frightening for all of them.

As an aside, any advice from parents on nice things people have done for you while your child was admitted would be appreciated and passed on to our friend network.

Please keep Emily and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

make sure Emily is on a probiotic. Probiotics help keep C-Diff away (often C-Diff comes in after extended antibiotic use) but maybe they can help even after she's contracted C-Diff.

Bring real food to the hospital for them. There's hardly anything good to eat for families.

Shovel thier walk or find someone to do it.

Offer to take Izzy out to do something fun...thier hands are full with Emily right now, and Izzy likely needs some attention.

Be avaliable

This is what I could think of off the top of my head...tell us how we can send cards, etc.

My son just finished a 20 day round of Flagyl (antibiotic) for C.DIFF. It's not a very fun bacteria, but hopefully they can get Emily's C.DIFF under control and felling better soon!

As far as something special, I always appreciate the "typical" gestures like snacks, magazine, calling card, caffeine for the fridge, and crossword puzzles. These are items I typically don't think about as my mind is solely on my child and not me. Helps reminds me to take a break every once in awhile.

Also, the hospital my son goes to offers massages on certain days. Maybe she would enjoy something of that nature if the hospital offers it.

We will keep Emily and her family in our prayers!
