I work as a nurse tech on a surgical floor, an I can understand why you are upset! First of all, WTF are they waking you at 5:30 for blood sugars??? What the heck--we only do that for patients that are 12/6/12/6--and it's not untill 6 that we wake anyone!!!!!! Make sure that the doctor orders your sugars for 7/11/3/7. Most of our blood sugars are at 6:30.(Which is the 7, but we have to start at 6:30.)
Also, you can put a sign on your door, not to bother you after a cetain time, unless they have to hang your meds...(you can get a doctor's order.) Then keep a suppy of shoes for when they can't read the sign! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

That is hilarious! I am not a very patient "patient" either and I never get any sleep. I hate being in the hospital! And it is not a vacation - being locked up in a place that you can't do anything you want to other than watch TV and that gets old quick too! I swear everytime I would try to take a nap someone would knock on the door and come in... how are you today? I feel like saying, I would be fine if you would leave me alone! But hang in there and hopefully you will still have your sanity when you leave ... haha.
