Time to update my vest

I have an ancient hill rom vest that just sits there as an old emergency backup. That one doesn't even have the pressure control, it was the very first one available to us...I got it when I was like 19 or something (i'm 37 now). I'm not even sure if that one is hill-rom, it says "American Biosystems INC." on the front of it.

Anyways, I have had a hill-rom rental unit (that my insurance company flat out bought) a long time ago as well. It's the unti the smaller unit that has the pressure gauge on it. Well it's smaller, but not as small and friendly as the newest one I have seen on their website. I have different insurance and medicare now, so i'd like to get the new vest so I can travel again etc etc.

I have heard you guys talk about different new, higher end brands, which one should I look into? The only one I have ever known is the hill-rom brand. So please, which brands should I look into? I'm assuming insurance is as likely to pay for either brands.

LIke you I had the original Hill Rom - it was huge and did the trick when you needed it to be there. About 1 year ago, maybe a bit more I got the Smart Vest and I really like it. They are all so much smaller now and they all come with travel cases, etc. Check it out on line or ask your CF doc which one he/she prefers. Like I said, I really like my Smart Vest I think it does a really good job.

Respirtech Smart Vest, if you ask me!

I just got my first vest, and I got to try both out. I felt smothered in the Vest. The Smart Vest does just as well without squeezing you to death.

The customer service was excellent. The educator came to speak to me the SAME day, with next day shipping. When I tried on the adult medium I mentioned it may be a little large, so they sent me an adult small as well, no questions asked, and I didn't even have to return one.

Plus the luggage is sweet <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
