yes, exactly the same problem here. I tried organic papaya purée, it helped for a while. anything with papaya is good for constipation. Then her doctor prescribed Forlax (not sure what the name in Poland is), a stool softener and after a week she was ok. Now i doubled her probiotic dose, maybe it helped too but i am not sure yet.

DS IS on enzymes, but had issues when we switched him from formula to whole milk. We used a laxative that draws water from the colon/large intestine to get things moving. Ours was over the counter and is called milk of magnesia in the states. I know other people use Miralax. Hopefully there's something similar you can use.

Thanks. Joanna is 3 and drinks normal milk...quite alot - maybe too much? I wonder. Papaya is something rare here <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">
But we are trying Lactulosum - works the sam as laxative but is made of lactosa.
Do you have any idea why this happens? My docs in CF center didn't say anything about this. Maybe I should change Joanna diet - less milk or something?

My understanding is that in CF all mucus is dehydrated, including mucus in the intestines, which makes the stools hard. I am not sure about milk, but i try to avoid things that constipate, like rice and bananas.

Thanks - we like rice ... <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">
I also give her probiotics daily - I know this helps.
What other products do you know should we limit...?
