Vest and PICC Line
What is your experience using The Vest while having a PICC Line?
Currently I have a PICC line and was using The Vest. I started experiencing some discomfort in my upper arm and shoulder. It appeared that the discomfort may have been due to irritation caused the PICC line irritating the vein as a result of vibrations from The Vest. The discomfort disappeared after I stopped using The Vest.
What were your experiences using The Vest while you have a PICC line?
The last time I needed a PICC line was almost four years ago, thank G-d, and I don’t remember what happened then.
Wishing the best to all the best,
Stephen,70 Y/O with CF and bronchiectasis

I have some trouble as well during tune ups with vesting. I usually undo the side where the PICC is situated. (undo the shoulder velcro).

Thanks for the suggestion. It makes sense and I will give it a try.

Airway clearence is very important. I have been using an Acapella since stopping The Vest, but I don't find it that effective.

The vest makes Andrew more nervous than uncomfortable. He is afraid he is going to jostle the end of the line. He tends to rely more on flutter anyway, which always produces more mucus than vest for him.
