I thought it was the same chances as 2 carriers, since if you have CF you are still a carrier. The stats I know are 25% carrier, 25% having CF, and 50% of being neither. Or at least thats what I was told. I believe they check for 87 mutations now because thats how many they have found (not exactly sure about this fact, again its just what I was told).

We had a long process of soul searching about how we wanted to become parents. We even went to counseling to help us sort things through. Ultimately, we decided on adoption rather than pursuing pregnancy.
We are now the parents of 2 wonderful sons -- both adopted at birth within the United States. We do not regret our choice at all!!

no mayahs dad is not in the picture, he could not handle the cf and transplants. that is another cause for sadness for us because she will have no parents. she will however have us, her family who loves her more than life itself. alls i was trying to say is that mayah has NOT had it easy. her life has been full of turmoil and separation from her mom because kari is SO ill and it is really HARD on her.
