What is the most painful part of the transplant

It's hard to say.....mine was the incision (they cut through my sternum) and the chest tubes (more uncomfortable than anything). It was easier to deal with the pain once all of the tubes were removed.

I agree with Patti, I would say Chest tubes<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif" border="0"> not too much pain but very uncomfortable

Unlike transplantmommy, I didnt have any incision pain. I did have chest pain though, sternal. When they started lowering my pain meds and changing them is when the pain started. It was like there was a boulder lying on top of your chest. That was my most painful part. It last about a day or two.

But like the last two responses mentioned. The chest tubes are ridiculously uncomfortable and it hurts alot when they pull them out. It starts to feel alot better as soon as they get them out though.
