I have been able to keep my weight up since my g-tube was removed 16 years ago. I am now getting more conscious of what I eat since I have kids and I am trying to teach them to eat healthy. I realized that I eat a bunch of crap lol. I usually eat pizza, sandwiches, milkshakes, and pretty much whatever I want. I maybe go up or down a pound or 2 but thats about it. I consume about 3700 to 4500 cals a day. I have started trying to eat healthier but, as I think some of the chemicals and preservatives in the crap food are not good for my body as far as breathing goes. Just looking on anyones opinions or recommendations on what they eat, and if it makes them feel different...
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
I cannot hardly eat anything processed, most canned things, packaged foods, etc. b/c of all my digestion problems. Anything with msg also hurts my stomach so I have been eating healthy to feel better. I eat a lot of fresh produce and meat but I also drink the chocolate boost. Cereal with whole milk, peanut butter and honey sandwiches, whole grain breads/pasta, stir-fry with brown rice, lots of cheese ... this stuff I can eat and it helps me maintain my weight. I hope this helps, best of luck with everything. Your kids could make pizza with you and you all could use whole grain pizza crust with low-fat cheese for them if you're concerned about what they eat. My husband and I cannot wait to start a family =)

Hi there,

My diet for a CFer is actually in-between I'd say,- Healthy but High in calories.

I get my calories from protein and calorie dense foods, meaning heavy, but hearty good foods.

I don't eat junk food, cakes, pies, candies, poison like McDonalds, Wendys, or anything, fast food, or processed, and rarely pizza actually. No soda, either, I either drink Gatorade, water , or fruit juice.

I eat alot of lean meats, maybe red meat once a week, fruit daily, and vegees, lots of yogurts, and milk, cheese, whole grains, and I LOVE eggs! Scrambled, sunny side, eggs,-eggs!!!

Protein bars and muscle gaining shakes also and I cook all my meals as well......

Butter is my magic ingredient! Especially when making grilled cheese, mac and cheese, etc. Basically any thing with cheese Also juice is a great way to add extra calories. Since I am a runner, I try to keep a high protein diet. Salami, cottage cheese, and cranberry juice are my faves. Top it off with a huge bowl of ravioli and I'm set

Try and avoid to eat junk food. Mostly have fruits and vegetables, as you can get complete fiber content from wholesome fresh fruits and veggies. Also milk can be consumed at all stages of life. So it is also better this way.
