who are you in a nut shell

Hi Everyone,
My name is Patty
I'm a girl
I'm 29
I live in Boston
I was dx at 3
I weigh about 95lbs I 'm 5'1
I hate PFT's and I no longer want to know my numbers, I focus more on how I feel
For exercise I do an aerobics class 2 times a week
I love love pocketbooks, I have over 100
I was working PT at a custom design purse store (it is closing due to $$$$ issue)
I have an amazing boyfriend of almost 4 years
I love Chihuahua's (I never had one but really want one)
I am a very happy person, most of the time and really have a positive outlook on life.
I love to giggle
I find friendships very valuable

So today is the first time I visited this site, it is great. I feel like I have so much in common with all of the profiles I have read in a short time.
I would really like to get into some conversations about CF issues in adulthood (i.e. financial independence)
Can't wait to start chatting with everyone
Thanks

who are you

Since you don't post often. I don't know you and this is one of few times I have been on being new to the Site.

I'll wish you a very Happy Birthday. Maybe you'll see this in time for your birthday..

I love Birthdays and most always spoiled by them. hee hee

I hope your Birthday is a blast.

I am also retired and volunteer as much as I can. I find it very rewarding.

i love my yoga and meditation and Harp music. Do you play and instrument? I find music to be very healing.

I think I can actually credit being a singer in a band when I was youger to being 48 year old . I just had my birthday and it felt great. I have loved the 40's.

Being an Aunt is so important as we didn't have children. I love being the cool Auntie.

Well, just thought I would say hello and Happy Birthday..;)

PFT= Pulmonary Function Test
They are used to measure the overal capacity and functionality of your lungs. There is the FVC (Forced Vital Capacity) which means the overal volumn of you lungs and FEV1 (??) meaning how much air you can blow out in the first second which is really more reflective of how functional your lungs are. PFT's are generally measured based on what is expected for you size and age group.

Hope that helps,

Hello Jen. Yesterday I seen the "new topic" button, but today I can't seem to locate it. This forum seems like it's alot different than any other. Anyways my book was just published a few weeks ago, and it's basic genere is science fiction. I figured if I stay indoors and be a recluse, I might as well do something productive. So writing is my escape outlet.

Wow, I see your 48. I have had so many struggles in my life, I'm not going to lie, there's times where I felt like deepthroating a rifle, but it's great to know that there's people out there that are going through the exact same thing that I am and have the intestinal fortitude to keep on going. You guys are truly an inspiration.

Cheers

Hey Shane: I love your name. You are an inspiration as well. My friend I have been wanting to publish a book for years. Never gotten around to it. Bravo to you. I write poetry on all sorts of subjects. Been writing it for years. I hope to publish it before to long. I have this thing about publishing something after a person is dead and gone. hee hee.ya know what I mean.

Thank you for your inspiring story and pesonality. Keep up the good work and maybe we can talk more . I visit evey day recently.

I also spend a lot of time at home and when Im feeling good I try to volunteer and spend time with friends. Even spending time with friends now , can be exhausting. I can't seem to keep up with them. It truly is about re inventing ones self. I am Thankful God has given me that opportunity, '

Okay, I'm way new - as in this is my first post- but I thought I would jump right in.

I'm Cindy
I'm a girl
I'm 27 years old
I was dx'd at a year old, failure to thrive
I have a sister that is 6 years younger that also has CF, and she's MUCH healthier than I, though I do well.
I live in Illinois, but I'm a transplant from Nebraska
I've been with my husband for 10 years, we've been married 6 1/2.
We have two healty little girls, ages 5 and 3. They are my entire life.
We have a rabbit named Miles, and a Russian Tortoise named Cucumber
I'm totally obsessed with turtles and tortoises.
I'm very sarcastic, brutally honest, and often times inappropriate. That offends some.
I am also loyal to a fault, I will do ANYTHING for a friend or a loved one. When I make a friend, it's forever.

I am so excited to talk to more adults with CF. Glad I found this forum!
