Corus Pharma's Phase III Trial for Cystic Fibrosis Drug

I did the trial. Wasn't told if I had the drug or the placebo but my lung function went from 40 % to 48% during the trial. Was kind of sad when it was over. And I loved the eflow.

    cf centers

I went to the UC Davis Peds clinic from the age of 3-20 yrs old. Then I transferred to their adult clinic. I used to travel two hours one way to get there when I was younger but now I go to school nearby so I can juggle dr. appointments and school a little more easily.

    PARI eFlow

The eflow has to be calibrated for a specific medication. It has been approved, but at the moment it is only being used in drug trials. It should be available for normal use in a couple of months. The eflow itself isn't what is calibrated. There's a little metal piece that fits into the device...

    tobi and eflow

eflow is a new form of Pulmo Aide. Only it administers meds in less than three minutes. It is so cool. I got to use one while doing a trial med. Dr. says it should be available soon and will give more independence. Oh and it's battery operated. Never had Tobi foam up but it is sticky. Awful...

    Sleepy

I understand the whole sleeping thing. I can sleep 10 hrs and still need several naps throughout the day. My roommate last year thought I was depressed because I sleep so much. Then there are the times when I am not tired and will stay up till 2am and then get up at 9am and be fine for the whole...

    Refrigerate Enzymes?????

I'm sorry to hear that Bridgette had left. She was pretty nice. Sometimes cowered to much to Dr. McDonald, but overall a nice person. Dr. Jawar is the one who suggested I transfer to adults. He was the only one who tried to help me out. I was in so much physical pain that over the counter stuff...

    Refrigerate Enzymes?????

The adult clinic is pretty nice (the people I mean). They're big about prevention and about their patients having the best quality life possible. I didn't know Bridgette left. Then again she was there when I first started coming in. That was over 21 years ago. Is Dr. Jarrar (sp?) still there...

    Refrigerate Enzymes?????

What CF clinic do you take your son to? Is it the Peds clinic or the adults? I go to UCDMC adult clinic, and I know that you can switch over to adults at the age of 16. Anyways, manufactorer directions usually state not to refridgerate enzymes due to humidity. Mine have always been stored in a...

    Moving and Need info ASAP

Wow, I didn't think this thread would come up again. So I will give a quick update (I started it back in 2003). Since Oregon does not have a plan like GHPP and my lung function is at 40% my boyfriend and I decided that I would remain in California. He works out of state and comes home once a...

    Hey Ladies....

I use Lutera. It's an extremely low dose pill (I can't even miss a dose). I started on Ortho-Tri-Cyclen but it was actually affecting me mentally. I would get extremely depressed and go into these weird rages. My Gyno said I was reacting to the high dose (she also said few people react this...

    Allan died this morning.

I am so sorry to hear the news. I hadn't been on in a couple of days for fear of what I might find, but someone posted the news on Myspace. I am in shock. Allen's views and thoughts were always something I looked forward to reading. Words don't exist to express how sorry I am to hear the news.

    Very interesting article

I had heard about this awhile ago (I'm studying genetics). But at the time they were still in the theoretical stage. It's nice to know that things have gone farther now. I really hope it works. That will be another leap for us!!!

    Anyone have an Awesome Pet(s)?

I have two cats. The older one will jump on my chest and purr loudly when I am conjested. She also bites me when I'm not breathing properly in my sleep. Both cats stay by my side when I am sick. That is the only way someone knows I need to see a doctor, because I'm good at hiding how sick I am.

    Tom Cruise

Unfortunately my view on Tom Cruise has been low for quite some time. So the Today Show incident only lowered his standing even more on my opinion scale. I am glad I missed the Operah thing (was studying for finals) since it seems I only missed a man making a bigger fool of himself. With the...

    Air Filtration Systems

What types of air filtration systems would you recommend? I've looked at several and they all claim to be better than the others. I have asthma as well as CF and am trying to get rid of some of the airborn irritants in my home.

    Relationship Advice Please...

I'm not sure what kind of help I can be. I am 23 years old. My boyfriend and I have been together for over a year now. We were friends for eight years before that. He and I have talked about marriage quite a bit. I know he loves me and he knows I love him. He has let me know that he isn't ready...
