    CF Care in Germany

I lived in Berlin for 6 months and had fantastic care from Dr. Doris Staab. She was very willing to try out new things (I was on cipro continuously while there, and she doubled the concentration of colistin I inhale), but as Ramjid said, they took labs and sputum every visit, did a full pft and...

    Eflow

I think people have pretty well touched on the distilled water. I've also heard the same thing about Control III NOT working for CF. I just want to add that I put my metal heads in the steam sterilizer, and I think that helps keep it from getting clogged. I use pulmozyme and HTS in my Trio and...

    eflow issue

I've had that problem before, and Foundation Care sent me replacement parts until we figured out what was causing it. I think it was the grey connector, but I don't remember. Contact your pharmacy, and they should send you a replacement.

can HTS be used in the eFlow?

That's a great idea, actually. Using the old Altera heads for HTS instead of throwing them out. You'd just need to be sure you keep the heads separate so you know which are the old ones and which are the new ones.

Eflow...what meds can you use with it???

Officially, Tobi and Colistin are the only meds approved for use with the TRIO. Pulmozyme, hypertonic, and albuterol are all off-label uses, so use at your own discretion, and they do clog the head over time. Altera should ONLY be used with Cayston.

    Altera/Eflow Neb head piece

Yep, it is completely safe to sterilize the metal head in the baby bottle sterilizer. In fact, I find the sterilizer does a better job at keeping the holes open than the alcohol does. Also, you should NEVER use the microwavable sterilizer bags because they can melt and deform the neb cups.
