Maybe you should consider getting a port. Then you would not have to go through the PICC line insertions when you need them for antibiotics. They are pretty easy to access and you are knocked out when they do the insertion. Also it is not noticable. Hope this helps.

Yes it can be accessed at home. Usually they can have a home care nurse show you how to access it yourself and continue antibiotics at home. My son did that several times. Cathie
