Hi,
I'm heading soon for my IUI. Was perusing the pregnancy forum and couldn't find information about this specific topic.

What do you take when you are in the midst of implanting?

Do you take your ADEKs? Is the Vit A amount that concerning in the first 2-3 weeks of a pregnancy?

What about supplemental Vit D (5,000 units/day)?

Prevacid?
5/day Tums for my calcium?
Pulmonzyme and 7% hypertonic saline?

I feel very ignorant about meds and pregnancy (and breastfeeding). Completely different than pediatric critical care medicine!!

Here I go... and then we wait!

I treat the 2 week wait as if I'm pregnant until a period or a positive pg test. No hair dye, alcohol, excess coffee, etc. I don't take ADEK's, Pulmozyme, Prevacid or that much vit D so can't answer those. Tums are OK and actually very helpful during pregnancy as is normal calcium supplementation (I take 1500 mg/day). HTS is fine. Xopenex is preferable over albuterol due to slight risk of birth defects in case you didn't know that but both are considered safe. For breastfeeding it makes no difference which one you use.

I think from past discussions it seems that most CF moms continue almost all of their meds. You can probably find info on the prevacid on kellymom.com or American Academy of Pediatrics site. There are lists of what's safe to take for pregnancy and BF.

i was on pulmozyme the entire time i was pregnant and leading up to being pregnant. i know people on here will jump on me for this, but oh well...i was supposed to do the hts, but didn't. i haven't been on adek in a long time because it's like 35 bucks a month for a bottle. i did start a prenatal viatmin as soon as i found out i was pregnant. i took onesource. i got that in walmart and i also too a calicum pill that had mageisum (sorry i can't spell) in it cause my high risk doctor suggested it. i was never told my viatmin levels were low. but i choose the onesource cause of the amount of everything it had in it. the onesource is in a pink bottle. as for the tums, i chewed a lot of them. my heart burn was so bad and they helped. when i asked my high risk doctor if there was something prescription i could take he asked me if i was taking the zantac twice a day. i started taking the zantac 150mg twice a day. so i know that was ok. i don't know about prevacid, i've never been on it. i didn't breastfeed either. my doctors didn't think my body could handle it. i also didn't have iui, so i'm not sure if you really wanted my input. if you have any questions for me though let me know, feel free to ask!
