Hi everyone
We have a 2,5 years old baby and she has a few cough in morning times and also during night. We do not know if it is caused By an infection or is it an airway clearence reflex of the body own. By the way we do not have a care center in our city, so it is hard to decide if taking her to the care center or not. İs there anybody can help me due to past experiences.
Thanks a lot
Kadri (baby with w1282x/?)

Coughing in CF patients is a good thing and should not be repressed. Hopefully she has a productive cough and is coughing up mucus. If it is an infection, there will be a fever. Deal with a fever differently.

It could be reflux, postnasal drip... With DS his baseline is no cough, so when he does cough, it usually means there's something going on. So we usually increase CPT/vest treatments. Is is bronchial or junky? Is it a dry, throat clearing cough...? Years ago DS had a dry, throat clearing cough and we just thought it was a habit. Culture results came back showing steno. maltophilia and he was put on septra and within a couple days, the cough was gone.

Can you call someone from the clinic who knows you and get their advice?
There can be an infection without fever which is how my 16 year old got diagnosed. She was coughing for a year until we got the right treatment. She cultured Staff and now she's clear after antibiotics
She barely coughs now, because she isn't so sick anymore
