3 hour long procedure

Hi everyone, well just found out my son defiantly has superior mesenteric artery syndrome(sma syndrome) and will have to have a gj tube. There is no way to do the g tube. I called to set up the consult and was told that this is a very involved procedure and will take 3 hours to complete. I can't believe that it will take this long. We were told by his doctor to expect to be in for atleast 7 days now. Has anyone else's child had to have a gj tube? I know most kids do night feeds, but my son will need to do 24 hours. Any advise will be appreciated. I apologize, but I am just nervous. Janelle
