hi everyone, so 2 months back aidan woke up at 2am screamin and crying that both his legs hurt so bad. i asked him to show me where and he pointed out in both of his thighs. so, in bed with me for the rest of the wee hours we were up while i was massaging his legs and he was struggling so bad with the pain. tossing and turning and digging his feet into the bed cause of the pain and crying. it broke my heart. i gave him tylenol in hopes it wuld help with the pain. i think we finaly fell asleep round 4am. the next day he was limping around all day. now, i figured aidan being 5 this was growing pains. the next day he was fine.

now almost 2 months later were going thru it again. it started last night at bedtime. but he slept thru the night. when we got up this morning he was crying cause his left thigh is hurting and he cant stand or walk on it. i gave him some tylenol again. i dont think that is helping. he isnt running around like he does all day and is limping. i had to carry him downstairs.

he gets plenty of fluids especially cause its hot in SC and i am right on top of the water and gatorade. do you think its growing pains. or does anyone have experience with this and it is CF related?

Sounds exactly like growing pains to me. My 4 yr old is beginning them and my neices next door, (5 and 7) have gotten them for years-what you describe is exactly what they do too. Their mom was so worried bc of the crying and limping at one point she got one of the kids x-rayed and all was fine, just growing pains. Some kids are more tolerant of them, some kids really get upset by them. I'd just try motrin or tylenol and baths before bed. Of course if you're really worried then ask your doc.
WE had the same problems with my oldest. It really seems to bother him after he has exercised more than usual. I started magnesium for both boys a while back, because of some research I had done and realized not to long ago, that the "growing pains" are completely gone now.

Here is the blog post I did on magnesium if are interested.
