6 month old refusing to eat

Grant is now 6 months old and weighs 14 pounds. We have been feeding him every 4 hours. Sometimes he will only eat 3 ounces of forumula and then refuses to eat anymore and getting him to take the enzymes is even more difficult. Tbis has been such a struggle. Usually this goes on for 3 to 4 days. I'm worried he is not getting enough calories. Is this a normal CF thing? He is not acting sick he just is not hungry. Any suggestions would be great. I'm very worried even though he has consistantly gained since 2 weeks old. He needs to eat but I don't hate forcing him.

Babies do tend to go through spurts where they eat a lot and spurts where they slow down, but I do think you need to keep an eye on this.

When my dd is culturing staph and it starts to go up in numbers, her appetite goes way down. About a week into a course of antibiotics and her appetitie picks back up again. So you may want to call your CF center and see if they want to culture him and make sure this isn't CF related. The nutritionist may also be able to comment on this.

6 months is a time when they get more interested in table food and exploring the world around them, so it can just be a normal baby thing, but as with everything with CF, you just can't know if its normal or if its the CF.

I totally relate to what you are saying.my daugther is 13 months old and feeding her is a struggle. I actually look forward to weekdays so that nanny can take over the feedings.

I don't really have any suggestions, I tried insisting (not really forcing) but she would throw up and I end up having wasted 1 hour. Will betalking with our nutritionist about this newt visit
