I have wondered this as well. If you put the stickers on their they dont last past 2 bolings. Also I guess you need to label each piece of the neb and not just the cup itself. I have always just guessed when they were done and then tossed them.

I finally just threw them all out and decided to change them out in April & October -- every 6 months -- around the same time we have clinic appointments in the City. Much easier for me to remember.

I do use a sharpy -- p & t for the pulmozyme and tobi. nothing on the albuterol. And no the sharpy mark doesn't hold up, so I have to redraw it every couple of months.

I use the same scenario for charitable donations -- I only donate in June. Otherwise, some of those places solicit every month, every other month...

I don't mark mine, I (presently) have 8, and will get new ones when these are done. Just marking the calendar works that way .

I don't boil mine, but they do get soaked in dish soapy hot water every night... and the Sharpie stays pretty long. Every few months, I need to re-mark them when it starts to fade, but if you mark every piece with a Sharpie, it should stay a while. I do this to keep my nebs apart. My Pulmozyme is unmarked, my Colistin says "Colistin" on the body, and then has Sharpie scribblings on every other piece... and my saline one says "Saline" on the body and then has Sharpie scribblings on every other piece. Since I never do saline and Colistin at the same time, it helps me keep them apart from the unmarked Pulmozyme pieces and it works well for me.
