Hey guys,
My name is Bree. I'm a 21 y/o female from Ontario, Canada and i joined the board last week. Up until that time, i've let my chest issues pretty much control my life - i let them determine what i could and could not do. I used the fact that i have trouble breathing as an excuse to not really enjoy things the way i want to.
I want to say thank-you to all of you for opening my eyes and seeing that you cannot live your life this way. There is nothing wrong with taking time out of your day to take care of your health, and that you cannot stop doing things on account of them. Reading through all of your posts about how active and involved you all are, usually i read things like that and feel sad b/c i tell myself that i can't do them. That isn't right.
I want to let you all know that as of this past week i have taken a proactive step in changing my ways. You guys have given me so much hope and inspiration, direction, encouragement and resources that i no longer feel that i can't do things - i CAN be active and i can enjoy being active the way people w/o breathing issues can.
I know this isn't much, but i cannot stress enough how you guys have inspired me and moved me to change the way i go about things. I will not let crappy lungs rule my life. From now on, i will rule them.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
