Hi,

I have a question which i am hoping someone will know the answer to.

I was told i had ABPA about a year ago because my IgE levels was upto 1000,i went on a treatment of steroids and antifungals for 6 months which finally brang my IgE level down to 400, now it seems to be going back up again, because I got the results back for my IgE test yesterday and its back upto 1000, i am just sick of having ABPA and feeling so inflamed, chesty and wheezy all the time.

Before being diagnosed with ABPA I noticed there was so much black and brown mould growing on my shower curtain, me being so ignorant thought it was dirt so i didnt bother doing anyting about it.

Is it possible my ABPA is so bad because of the shower curtain?

I'm still learning about CF as i didnt really start getting sick till i got the ABPA, so thats why im worried.

Do you still have the moldy shower curtain? If so, get rid of it immediately. Yes, it could cause it because ABPA can be caused by mold in your lungs. Have you ever cultured aspergillus?

No i have never cultured Asperilligus in my sputum sample, thank goodness!

And I got rid of my shower curtain today aswell, i only just realised that it may be my shower curtain after researching it and immediately threw it away.
