Acappela (sp?)

Hi - Just wondering how many use the accapella (sp?) as a form of their treatment? Do you use it with the vest and manual PT or do you use it by itself. My son (7) had the manual cpt until 2 and then the vest. Now he prefers the accapella. It def. seems to be more productive than the others for him. I am sure that a combination of the acappela and one of the others would be best. Just looking for your experiences and thoughts. Thanks. Jo Ann

My daughters use the Acapella and the Vest. They do one in the morning (usually the Acapella since it's much faster) and the other in the evening. Breathing treatments with both. I also think the Acapella seems more productive than any other form of CPT I've seen. The girls hardly ever cough with the Vest but they do cough with the Acapella.

I now take ventolin with th acapella. You can attach your neb onto tthe back of the acapella. I find it very effective.

See, for me, the Acapella is useless. It makes me cough and cough... and cough, but doesn't bring up ANYTHING. So I'm wasting energy for nothing. I stopped using it. My boyfriend beats me every night for half an hour, that's how I get my CPT.

The more choices you have the better! I find that sometimes I like the vest, others I want the acapella. Variety is the spice of life!<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

Use the Acapella or Therapep...I alternate between the two. Those do the best for me out of everything I have tried. Although when sick I prefer good ole manual CPT
