Acid Reflux meds help but can I do anything else along with the meds?

My 1 year old is on both Zantac and Prevacid both two times a day. And for the most part the meds seem to help but every ones in a while it all most seems like the Reflux flares up and he will just cry with what seems to be tummy pains. Then will try and poop and either have diarrhea or push so hard that he will throw up? So I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this or had any home remedies that I could use when it does seem to flare up. Because also when this does go on he doesn't eat like normal and can tend to lose weight. Which is another bad thing in the CF world.

2 things come to mind.....

we do BRAGGS apple cider vinegar....which seems to help with tummy stuff/high acidic tummies. I put in about a teaspoon with yogurt and applesauce twice a day

also, we have some tummy issues, where throwing up occurs during meals and I started giving the boys a little garlic in honey to kill off any bugs that might be growing in their bodies. I buy the gel caps of garlic, open it up and put a little squirt on a spoon with honey. The boys absolutely love it and can't even taste the garlic.

blessings,
missa

Missa thank you so much for the ideas, I am going to definitely try them. One question with the vinegar. How much yogurt and applesauce? And you combine all three vinegar, yogurt and applesauce? And what kind of yogurt?
Thank you again

Probably about 1/4 cup plain whole fat yogurt (greek if you can find it, it has more calories and fat) and 1/4 cup applesauce (no sugar added preferred).
the key about apple cider vinegar is it needs the "mother" in it, which is like the pulp. So if you can't find Braggs, just look for that.
