Advair?

While at lunch today at work i stumbled upon an ad in a mag for this medication called Advair. Their ad says "Advair helps significantly improve lung function so you can breathe better."

The ad said that it's an anti-inflammatory and a bronchodilator combined. Looks like it's perscribed mostly to people with COPD.

From it picture it looks like a little purple disk that you inhale, like an inhaler.

Theoretically, it seems like a CFer's dream. Is this just another asthma med? i already have an inhaler (though I don't believe I have asthma, never asked about it though)Has anyone ever tried this? do you need a perscription?

I use Advair. When I am healthy enough to get it into my lungs I can say it makes a difference. The problem is that its a powder you inhale so when I couldnt breath well/deep it often landed on my tongue causing thrush & not helping my lungs.

I think a few of us use it on here.

Advair rocks! Maybe not for everyone, and no it is not a cure. It made a world of difference in my life when I started it over a year ago. I had to convice my doc to let me try it cause he was not convinced I had an asthma component. He did the lamo bronchodilator then PFT test which is all fine and good for most; but, did not work for me in proving my case. It does have some invisible side effects though, but I can honestly say it changed my life.

I use Advair when I am in the hospital and Servent when I am at home. I like the Advair. I don't notice a difference but I was also full of infections so on a "healthy" day it may help. I am going to ask to be switched to Advair at my appointment in May. I know you have to wash your mouth out after using it.
