Air in the Lungs

Hi, I am new to this...my neice has CF and the dr's had just told my sister that she has air in her lungs and that it wasnt good...that anna needs to do more excercises...i was just wondering if this is common?? could someone please respond and tell me what kind of excercises she should do..thank you sooo much in advance.

I've heard the phrase air trapping before when DS has had an upper respiratory infection. We usually increase Chest Physiotherapy. Is she on pulmozyme? I seem to recall an article that talked about how that helps with air trapping -- suppose it thins the mucus, which is what's causing the air to be trapped in the first place. I'm just guessing here...

I've heard the phrase air trapping before when DS has had an upper respiratory infection. We usually increase Chest Physiotherapy. Is she on pulmozyme? I seem to recall an article that talked about how that helps with air trapping -- suppose it thins the mucus, which is what's causing the air to be trapped in the first place. I'm just guessing here...

thank you so much...yes she is on pulmozyme...
my sister spoke with her dr today...and he said to have her do jumping jacks, walk and run around..Anna will be 4 this sunday and this is the first time that she has had air trapped...
she is doing very well other wise...but thanks again for you reply.
