Air Travel with Liquid Meds

Someone on another site was asking about travelling with the vest and got several suggestions; however, one person mentioned that when flying with liquid drugs, you're still limited to 3 ounces, which must be kept in a quart ziploc bag.

I guess I thought medications were considered exempt from that rule. Haven't travelled since the most recent changes have been made regarding carry-ons, but most of DS' meds are still liquid form and would exceed the 3 ounce requirement. Plus, I've always travelled with a small lunch bag cooler with polarpac ice packs to keep the tobi and pulmozyme cool, as well as one of his antibiotics...

Medicines are indeed exempt from that rule. Keep your meds in the original prescription packaging, and you'll be fine.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty damn sure that that's right. I've traveled fairly recently and never had that problem. Once they thought my old nebulizer was a concealing a bomb... (lol, I kid you not), but that's the only trouble I've had. And as soon as they opened it up and found a motor instead of a bomb, they let us go.

HAHAHA....They did that to me too. I had mine in my back pack and they looked at me and said, in a confused tone "You have a large metal block in your bag, we just need to test this" LMAO...I even said it was a nebulizer and they still tested it.

I don't want to hijack anything, so feel free to ignore me here... but it was this whole insane ordeal. They sent it through the X ray machine and it still looked suspicious. They did that cotton on a stick test, and were still unsure. After about 20 minutes, they sent everyone but the police out of the room, and blocked it off. Again, I kid you not. It took about an hour. And they wouldn't let us go until they literally unscrewed the compressor and found that it really was a motor inside. Which was good, but then every other person in the airport looked at me and my fiance like we were terrorists... kind of funny. This was only 2 years ago. Haaaaaa.

Kay I'm done!
