This has been prescription for the past 12 years.... ever heard of Xenecal? that's what it was called before the FDA allowed it to go OTC

If it worked and it actually made people lose weight long term, there would be no obesity problem in the united states

that's my two cents.

My boyfriend tried it once some years ago.
He didn´t take it for a long time because he didn´t like the side effects...but unfortunately he does still like greasy food

Okay, when I heard about the ALLI I had to laugh. I mean seriously, people will do anything for a quick fix. And yes, it does mimic malabsorbtion in CFers. Which, I have a hard time understanding why people would willingly go through that just to lose a couple more pounds. And Mat Lauer on the Today show even read some of the "side effects." Which one was that you would need a change of clothes due to the "anal seepage." That just sounds unappealing to me.

EXACTLY! When will people learn that there is no "quick fix"?! I have a friend who tries every new thing that comes along. After she reaches her goal? You guessed it, back to McDonalds! I can't seem to get through to her that if she just changes her eating habits on a permanent basis, she will maintain an acceptable weight. Don't get me wrong, I know it is difficult when people are so busy running from place to place. Sooner or later you will have to hit a drive through in the interest of time, but if overall you eat healthy foods, you will be much better off.

Another thing. It seems strange to me that the FDA would make something that causes anal leakage available OTC, but it takes an act of congress to get life saving drugs approved for prescription use.

That's probably more like my 4 cents.
