almost thought today was the day

I had my weekly OB appointment this morning. The BPP was perfect and the cord has completely unwrapped from the neck now! That doesn't mean it won't re-wrap, but at least for the moment it's gone. So my NSTs will be discontinued. The growth scan showed him to be over 7 lbs and 88th percentile.

My PUPP rash is getting worse and they said I have the option to be induced at 39 weeks if I want because of that. I told him I'd prefer not to do that. He is going to prescribe me a stronger topical cortisone to help with the itch. I haven't been sleeping at night because of the itching.

They took my BP and it was 145/95, which is totally high for me. They used the automatic cuff on me (which they never used before and I hate those ones because they always show a high BP on me). They did a repeat with the auto cuff and it was 157/96. AH! Now the doc is all worried about pre-eclampsia and sends me over to be evaluated and says if it remains high I'll be getting a c-section. Of course as soon as I'm calmed down and resting in the evaluation unit my BP goes right back down to normal. They got me all worked up over there in the office! They drew labs and urine and all was normal.

But the doctor says he wants me out of work and to take it easy now on partial bedrest. I wasn't planning on stopping work until later, but he says I've made it further than most of his patients. I will work half days for the rest of the week (since I just sit at work anyways) and then I will be done. Hopefully I can keep myself entertained at home until the baby arrives because it's hard to just wait for the baby to come

It will be hard for me to take it easy these last few weeks. I'll be wanting to get things ready for baby, cleaning for the post-baby company, etc. So hopefully no more excitement for a couple more weeks and the baby stays put in there a little longer. I think it will be awhile as I was only 1 cm and 50% effaced today.

What a day you had! Glad that you didn't have the baby today though - still a little early for us. I'm sorry your PUPP rash isn't letting up I'm sure it makes you miserable.

Cervical checks don't mean much - you can be closed up tight and go into labor that day or walk around several cm dilated. There is a girl I know due the same time as us and she's been 4 cm for a week now - no action yet. Crazy!

Did you get your GBS test yet? I have mine this week.

Wow, that was an exciting appointment! I'm glad to hear the cord isn't around his neck anymore. I keep joking with my husband that I'm going to request bedrest so that I can relax until the baby comes, but I know that if it actually happens I will probably stress more about all the things I'm not getting done! At least you're just on partial bedrest, so you can do some small things. Tell him to hang in there for at least another week or so! I'll be happy for my little one to make an appearance anytime after 37 weeks .

Caroline- Yes, I had my GBS and it was neg, so at least I don't have to get the abx during labor. Good luck with yours.

Jen- I totally wasn't expecting the doc to put me on partial bedrest yesterday, but I think he's just thinking I'm doing too much and not sleeping enough. I think he has a point being that I don't want to be tired by the time labor comes...need tons of energy for that! But I am looking forward to relaxing a bit. Hang in there and try to get some good rest during this last month
