Hi this is Liza. I asked about clinic in SA. Are you guys talking about the same clinic? Candice you mentioned Santa Rosa but Amanda didn't mention a name. Is there more than one hospital there? I guess I should claify, is there more than one CF clinic there, I know there is more than one hospital. Is there a clinic at University Health Science Center (? unsure if that's right, the one near UTSA) We don't know where we'll end up next summer except that it will be Texas. Thanks for your info. It helps to hear what people think of their clinics and hospitals. Liza

This is Amanda. Yes we are talking about the same hospital. But different doctors. They are the same team, Candice just sees the pediatric doctors while I see the adult doctors. They are all great though. There is a CF clinic on base in SA. Go to this websites home page, there is a tab that says "CF Centers". I think you will find all the CF centers all over the US. There are so many clinic all over texas. Just click on a state and it will bring up all of them. If you have any more questions just ask.Amanda

Ha, nope, I'm talking about the adult doctors... They are extremely nice, and very knowledgable. The pediatric ones, quite honestly (I hope my doctors don't go on these boards... might give them an inflated ego, and might make them believe I actually like them <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> ) are some of the best ones I've come across ever, and I've been to so many it's pathetic. I believe there is a childrens Methodist CF clinic. But personally the Dr. that heads the clinic over there left Santa Rosa hospital with no well wishes... I'm not saying that she isn't a good doctor, but she wasn't very personable. There is a UTHSCSA University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio headed by Orozco. I have heard good things about him too. Overall if I had to pick personally. I'd choose Santa Rosa. It's a very good clinic, the people are great, and they really get involved with the patient. Not how are you doing? "Just so-so? ok see you in 3 months or so.." But really listen to the patient. The hospital isn't half bad either (as if hospitals anywhere are good...) That's about all I can tell you. If you want to know more, just email me...

Hey you guys, Thanks for your input. Yea, I know I can go see where all the clinics are. When it comes closer to time to choose I'll take a look. Just thought I'd get some input from you all that go there. I knew they had a clinic at Lackland AFB. We are military, and have heard some great things about the clinic there. Seeing as they have a clinic I'm not sure if they'd let us go off base . Something to look into. By the time we do get over there, if we do go to SA, only our youngest daughter would be with us. Our older one will be off to college, and if she gets her choice it won't be in the same state as where we live much less the same city. Ugh, we'll see what happens there. Thanks again for the input.
