Amber's Homecoming

Amber came home from Pittsburgh this past Tuesday (May 15, 2007), after two months from double-lung transplant. Amber was surprised at the many friends & family who were waiting for her return to home. Delhi Middle School had a Welcome Home Amber message out in the front of School. Friends & Family had welcome home signs placed on the street leading to Amber's house, which made Amber very happy & surprised. We are so grateful to have friends & family come and welcome us all home. Amber still has to do dialysis three times a week until we can find a kidney match for her kidney transplant, but we are all happy to be home. Amber had her first dialysis treatment at Cincinnati Childrens Hospital yesterday and visits from her CF nurse (Connie) and Karen and her kidney doctor. We are to return to Pittsburgh Childrens Hospital in the next 3-4 weeks for follow-up and check to see if Tracy (Amber's Mom) is a match for the kidney transplant. If Tracy is a match she will have to go through some more testing, then if everything is fine we would proceed with the kidney transplant a soon as possible. Again, we wish to thank everyone for their prayers and support and the many doctors and nurses that have helped in Amber's recovery.
