Amber update

Family, friends & teachers,

Sorry I haven't sent an e-mail out for a few days but its been pretty
crazy. Amber was removed from her oxygen on Friday & is doing very
well. She had visitors from home this past weekend. My sister Tammy, her
daughter Natalie, Amber's best friend Kelly & her mom Debbie came. It
really helped raise Amber's spirits. She needed to see some familiar
faces. She is still walking 3x/day. They had to put her back on bypap
the past 2 nights, just for 2 hours, because part of the right lung was
partially collapsed. Yesterdays x-ray showed it was beginning to open
back up though. Her kidney levels are creeping back up, but there are
no plans for dialysis right now. Her left chest tube is suppose to be
removed today, but the right is still draining alot. One of the
activities assistants gave us tickets for a Pirates & Cincinnati Reds
baseball game for April 29th. We are looking forward to doing something fun
with Amber (they gave us 4 tickets). Darrell & I are checking out of
the hotel today & moving into our apartment where Amber will go when she
is released from the hospital. I will update again soon. Thanks for all your thoughts & prayers!

yay! an address - I am guessing that if we send something to the apartment and it arrives before Amber gets home they will take it to her? or is that the wrong assumption?

Oh well - we shall see.

Amber is going to get a pass on Sunday to come to the apartment for a
few hours. I'm going to cook an Easter dinner for all of us. My sister
Tanya is flying in today from Colorado for a visit. She will be
leaving on Monday. The docs now think Amber has a bowel blockage. She had
some testing today & we should find out the results by tonight. Her left
chest tube was removed but the right is still in. I will try to update
again soon.
