changed my post because it was misleading. Here is an article that best sums up what I read. This is not my opinion rather an interesting article that I wanted to present.

Yes I have personally noticed when I get angry, my health does suffer.

That article about lung health is great. I have to respectfully disagree that Mercola's site is worth subscribing to, though, I think it's potentionally dangerous at worst, false at best.

It has the himalayan crystal salt that he says is "the purest on earth" and yet has "84 elements" An excellent pull apart of that and other claims is provided by Misel <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://http://forums.cysticfibrosis.com/messageview.cfm?catid=903&threadid=6577&highlight_key=y&keyword1=himalayan%20crysta">here</a>

He is promoting something that says vaccines are bad for kids. What? This is the one I find REALLY dangerous. <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.mercola.com/forms/vaccine_teleconference.htm">here</a><a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.mercola.com/forms/teleclinic_transcript_fluvaccine.htm">and here</a>

And claims that glasses are a crutch, and bad eyesight is caused by tense eye muscles . Funny, not what my optometrist said...<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.mercola.com/products/natural_vision_cd/index.htm">here</a>

Just wanted to give others out there more info about this guy...I don't like the idea of recommending him.

Yes I agree Allie about Himaylian salt being all hype because I personally tried it and I felt it did nothing for me. Not everything Mercola says I agree with.

Anger speeds up deterioration of lungs: study Wed Aug 30, 7:45 PM ET

LONDON (Reuters) - Lung power normally declines as a person ages but being angry and hostile can speed up the process, researchers said on Thursday.

In a study of 670 men ranging in age from 45 to 86, they found that males who had higher levels of long-standing anger at the start of the eight-year project had significantly poorer lung function at the end of it.

"This study is one of the first to show prospectively that hostility is associated with poorer pulmonary function and more rapid rates of decline among older men," said Dr Rosalind Wright, of Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts, in a report online in the journal Thorax.

The scientists used a scoring system to measures the levels of anger of each of the men and they tested their lung power three times during the study.

Even after taking account of other factors such as smoking that can also have an impact on lung power, hostility and anger had a negative effect.

Anger, hostility and stress have also been associated with heart disease, asthma and other ailments.

Wright and her team suggested that the negative emotions could change biological process and may disturb the immune system and cause chronic inflammation.

"Stress-related factors are known to depress the immune function and increase susceptibility to or exacerbate a host of diseases and disorders," said Dr Paul Lehrer, of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, in an editorial in the journal.

He added that it is unknown how chronic anger contributes to physical deterioration but said the researchers established a link between chronic anger and age-related deterioration in lung function.

"The next step is to determine the exact pathway by which this happens," said Lehrer.

Any negative emotion that we create within ourselves will affect our health. For some reason, I do not know why this topic of this article just focuses on anger. I believe that anxiety (fear related) and depression also affect lung health.
In chinese medicine the lung meridians if out of sorts are associated by grief and sorrow.

It is obvious to me, when someone is stressed out they feel tightness or pain in their chest. Imagine how hot tempered people feel if this becomes a chronic behavior?

I noticed throughout my lifetime, whenever I was under any negative stress (some stress is good) I would catch something.

It makes perfect sense to me that negative thoughts over time contribute to inflammation within the body.

So how does one change if they are interested? That is the question? I know it is probably easier for some to change their diet but to change their thinking patterns must be more difficult for some. Sometimes it takes a life changing event to sit back and realise they need to make a change for the better.

There needs to be more awarenss in corporate settings for the Angerholics.
