Do you do anything when you get nauseaous from abx? I am so nauseous from Bactrim and I am looking for something to help. I called the pharmacy and they just said saltines and lots of water/cranberry juice. The thing is I dont feel like eating ANYTHING. I want to stay on the bactrim, but I dont really want to call the doctor and have him tell me to go off the meds because they are kind of a last resort..not much else will work for me. I know the nausea will probably go away after a few days, but today I feel gross.

Okay, I have a vomiting phobia so I have several remedies: Anything made from (real) ginger (ginger tea and crystallized ginger are my two favorite forms), seabands (acupressure wristbands that you can buy at the pharmacy), cola syrup, emetrol, and peppermint (tea, gum, or mints). And sometimes, just forcing myself to eat a few bites of something bland (like saltines) will help.

Also, can you take Bactrim with food? If so, maybe that would help. I can't believe the pharmacist said cranberry juice - the thought of drinking that when I'm not feeling well makes me want to gag.

I never had issues with nauciousness & meds until this admit. I now get a med before they hang my iv merepenum.

Its a chewable pill & for the life of me I cant remember the name of it.

Talk to the doctor about getting something prescription if you cant get the usual BRAT diet down (bananas, rice, apple & toast along with ginger ale)

I've taken Zofran in the past and it helps a bit. It's a strong anti-nausea given to chemo patients so you'd need a prescription. I've taken Bactrim every day for almost a year and have nausea quite a bit, but I don't think from the Bactrim. Good luck!
