Hey there,
I wasnt allowed to drink for 6 months after my transplant. When I asked my doc about it, he said, " we translant you so you can live." So yes you can drink but dont do it in excess.
If it makes you feel better, I have taken my rejection meds with a swig of beer. Probably not the best idea I have ever had but I havent seen any ill effects from it <img title="Wink" src="include/wysiwyg/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-wink.gif" alt="Wink" border="0" />
Good luck!

I have been told that you can drink but only a beer and to do it an hour after taking meds. I personally havent drank since my transplant but wouldnt mind doing it if it doesnt jeopordize my health. Hopefully others have more information about it.

I have been known to drink a couple of beers. Sometimes I have a whiskey on the rocks. I don't drink to excess & I don't do it very often. I took a quad riding trip to UT last fall. While we were camping in 'the sticks' I had a whiskey on the rocks every night for 3 noghts and had no problems. I just wouldn't do it (drinking) in excess and not very often. Best wishesm 'Pat'.
