I am wanting advice about using antiinflammorties. I have been using alternate day therapy with predinisone but have used it for many years. I would like to find something else or even consider not using anything for awhile but am not sure if this is wise.

I wouldnt necessarily recommend not using anything. If you do need these & find out the hard way, it takes awhile to get bounce back once you start taking something again. I can understand wanting to get off the Prednisone tho. Even if you went to an inhaled steroid like pulmicort it wouldnt be as harsh as the Prednisone. Have you discussed alternative anti inflammatories with your doc. I use albeuterol (I know not anti inflammatory), pulmicort (neb) & am currently using zithromax 3 times a week for its anti inflammatory affects. My biggest problem this past year has been airway restriction more than congestion related to CF. Some docs prescribe ibuprofen usage. I personally cant use that on a daily/regular basis because of my history of hemoptysis, but some people have found it works. So many docs/'patients think & see differently. The good thing about that is it gives other ideas for someone whose efforts havent worked yet. I hope you can find an alternative!
