During the Q&A portion South Carolina was asked why she thought "1/5th of Americans cannot locate the United States on a map". Her answer was... terrifying.
"I personally believe the U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some...people out there in our nation don't have maps, and, uh, I believe that our education like such as South Africa and, uh, the Iraq everywhere like, such as and...I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., err, uh, South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future for our..." (buzzer cut her off, indicating she was out of time.)
I'm not joking, that is a direct quote. I can understand being nervous, but let's get real, I'm guessing she's one of that ratio that can't locate US on a world map!!!
New Jersey on the other hand was incredibly poised, her answer was brilliant, well presented and she's obviously quick witted. I thought on that alone she should have won.
