Howdy...

Just curious if its just me or anyone else is just plain NOT HUNGRY when it gets hot out like this? For the past month or so I've had NO appetite and had to force myself to eat light foods throughout the day cause the thought of a huge meal makes my stomach turn.

I was thinking it was stress of applying for SSDI and my schedule getting out of wack cause I was spending 3+ hours a day either looking up stuff for SSDI or applying online, but now that I've gotten my app in, I still have no appetite and just feel hot and uncomfortable.

Does anyone else get this way when the temps rise? Its about 102 today in Vegas but has been over 100 for the past couple of weeks. Urgh.

If you get this way, what do you do to get your appetite back? I have megace (steroid for appetite stimulation), but I'd rather not go there if absolutely not needed.

Thanks!

I lose my appetite in the heat as well. Even here at the beach it has been unusually warm. I've been snacking on those prepackaged foods that are 100 calories each. That way I can tell myself "okay, I'll eat 3 of these, then drink some juice." It helps to keep track of how much I'm eating so that I know I'm getting enough.

One of my absolute favorite snacks during the summer is "sparkling grapes." I take a bunch of grapes, rinse them and not dry them, and then sift some granulated sugar on them. Then put them in the freezer for about 20 minutes. The sugar helps add calories, the grapes are pretty easy to digest, and they have a high natural water content to help us stay hydrated. Mmmmmmmmm.

This is an issue with me most definitely. I eat the cooler things. Its actually the only time I probably will eat ice cream because it has the calories.

I rely on my shakes during the bad days also. I also do ceasar salad with meats in it etc. Some of those salads can add up to more calories then a Big Mac depending on what you put on them.

Be Careful & Good Luck!
