Anyone gone a cruise?

My boyfriend and I are thinking about going on a cruise (next winter), have any of you gone on a cruise before? Did you do OK with the recircullated air on the boat? Should we pay almost double and get a room with a balcony so that I can get some fresh air to sleep? What about your treatments, how did all of that work out for you?

Any advise would be really helpful.

We are taking our 4 year old son on a cruise in a couple of months (very excited). I wouldn't pay double for a room with a balcony. From what I've been told, you spend very little time in your room. We spent a little extra for a window, but I don't even think that it opens. I would imagine that the recirculated air isn't much different than being on an airplane - not the healthiest in the world but I wouldn't waste much time worrying about it. My advice, take Airborne faithfully while on your cruise (I will doing that with my son). We are taking his vest and his nebulizer equipment to do his treatments. I wouldn't mind leaving the vest at home and doing clapping instead, but I think he will prefer using the vest. It will be a pain to haul it, but once there I think we will be glad that we have it.
Have fun on your cruise!

What is Airborne? We have taken our daughter on 2 cruises and she loves them. The portholes do not open. The sea air does wonders for irrigating the sinuses. We took along her nebulizer etc. Lots of exercises on a ship - all those stairs and getting lost going to our cabin kept us all in shape. The staff will pamper you for extra pillows etc.

Just enjoy!

I went on a cruise to the caribbean for my make a wish. We had a suite with a balcony. It was so nice!!! I have pretty bad lung problems, more than digestive, and I really believe that it was nice to have the fresh air while i was sleeping. It is true that you really dont spend much time in the room but the time that you do spend in there it is kinda nice to get fresh air and not just circulated air... I want to go on another cruise and i would probably get the room with a balcony in it just because i will do whatever it takes to keep myself from not getting sick!!! Every little bit helps but that is just my opinion... But if money is limited... I dont think that i would pay extra and not spend alot of time in the room.... I felt that the air quality on the ship was ok on my cruise but it was a brand new ship at the time!!! I hope this helps a little!!

Airborne is something you can take to help prevent colds - it's got a bunch of vitamins and minerals that help boost your immune system. Even if you still get sick, it can shorten the amount of time you are sick. It's recommended when you feel you are starting to get sick or when you are entering an environment with a bunch of germs (like airplanes). I've given it to my son a few times (like at Christmas when he was being exposed to a lot of sick family members) or a couple of times when he started coming down with something. I have also taken it and think it is really effective. I think you can go to www.airborne.com for ordering information. More and more stores are starting to sell it (and they sell out pretty quickly too) - I try to always keep a couple of extra boxes on hand. Some places keep it on the shelf and some keep it behind the counter of the pharmacy (even though it is over the counter medicine). Places like Wal-Mart, CVS Pharmacy, and Walgreens to name a few places. You can buy Airborne Jr for children or Airborne (1 tablet for adults, 1/2 for children).

Great product! It started really becoming popular when Oprah started endorsing it. That's how I heard about it.

I went on one and didn't have any problems with the air! I was lucky enough to go on the Carnival Paradise while it was non-smoking. I don't think there are any non'smoking ships anymore, which really sucks, b/c it was SO AWESOME to be able to go to the clubs and bars and not deal with smokers! It was so much fun though, and I ended up getting tons of exercise with all the activities we did!
