If you can, try pulmonary rehab....that way, your O2 is monitored and tweaked accordingly. Also, you will learn some beneficial exercises as well as breathing techniques. Once you are done with the program, you can continue to do the exercises etc....
I have been through rehab 3 times already and it has helped me with my stamina and muscle tone. The program was tailored to what I could tolerate and what I could do safely.
HOpe this helps,

swimming. weight training. obviously, i don't know what you are capable of or not, but i signed up at the gym a few months back and it has helped me a ton! i've now got little muscles on my little bones. not to mention my lung capacity has gone up significantly <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> yay!! ask your doc what you might be able to do, and maybe you can find a trainer to help. or buy little weights and an exercise ball to work with at home. you can find countless workouts online (youtube) to get you started. good luck!

MY best weight gain was when I had a personal trainer at the gym. I worked out at least 3 days a week for an hour with a customized program that my trainer put together. I was also eating 3 meals a day with a good bit of protein and doing at least one protein shake a day (typically right after my workout). I gained about 5 pounds of muscle in a very short time.

If you have the time and can afford it, I would definitely recommend a gym membership and a trainer (at least to get you started, after that you can continue the routine on your own). Watch out for germs in public gyms. Mine had disinfectant where you were expected to wipe down the equipment before and after using it.
